It's Raining!

After a long, long drought it finally rained yesterday. We were gone this past weekend. We were exhausted when we returned, so we were thrilled not to have to go out in the steaming heat and water our flowers and vegetables. They are well nourished now. After a busy weekend of visiting with old friends, I am well nourished, too.

When it rains in Florida it REALLY rains. T had to go out about 9:00 p.m. and drain some of the water out of the pool because we were afraid it was going to overflow. This morning it is overcast and the ground is soggy. I imagine it might rain all day.

  1. No hand watering equals the rain.
Glad you had a good time with your friends. Those good times are like blue skies!

  2. We could do with rain. It's been dry since for ever and the air is all yellow pollen and dust and the ants! Well of course, if we had just one decent night of heavy steady downpour they would migrate elsewhere. Instead, they are having a laugh every time I sweep the pation.

    1. We have fire ants here. They swarm and bite and leave itchy red marks. I hope you get rain soon.

  4. After waking up to a month of rain or cloudy days, I almost don't want to look out the window in the morning. I am glad to hear that this rainy weather in the US is good news somewhere.

    1. I'm hoping you get some sun and warmth soon, a blue sky and the ability to go outside without a coat does wonders. Soon it will be the rainy season here and it will rain almost every afternoon for about an hour with unbearable heat and humidity. Then I will be wishing I was enjoying your beautiful Northern summer.
