Scratching my head
Have you ever noticed that if you use certain words/names in your blog posts that the number of views in your stats from certain less than desirable countries rises dramatically? I wonder how much these professional snoopers get paid to make the world a worse place to live in?
I think we all know what we must do to fight injustice, evil, and lies. Vote!

Hmmmm. Just looked at my blog stats. Interesting to note that although the majority of visitors to my blog have arrived from the United States, the second greatest number of visitors have arrived from Russia.

DeleteI am so disillusioned with every level of politics. Our local politics is a national embarrassment, our provincial political party lied in their campaign and have gone back on every promise that made me vote for them in the first place. Our national political party seems more interested in photo ops than making changes to protect its citizens. I raised my kids to vote and always took them with me to the polling booths. I have never not voted, not once but I am now at a place of complacency. And I don’t know how to get out of this place.
ReplyDeleteVote anyway. Vote until it hurts. Vote until the bad guys are out and the good guys are in. Liars are bad guys. The alternative is to surrender, and that's just not acceptable.
DeleteI know. And I will. Because woman had to fight for this right that I can so flippantly throw away. I can’t do that. At this point though that is the only thing keeping me voting. I really do believe we are past the tipping point. I do hope I am wrong.
DeleteYes! Voting lets anyone and everyone know we are watching. If we don't pay attention there will always be those who try to take advantage for their own gains.
ReplyDeleteI see voting as a sacred obligation. You know that saying, "If you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain?" I love to complain. NOT giving up that right. :)

DeleteIt's so terribly important to vote, especially this November. My friend who works with the local League of Women Voters is planning to help man tables at our local high schools' registrations next week, registering students who will be 18 years old by November to vote. I think it's a wonderful plan!

DeleteYou're talking about Russia. So say so. Apostrophise VP and shame the Devil, as my Grannie might have said. I was never entirely sure what these sayings meant; nor I think in her nineties was my Grannie. Never mind, such utterances helped reinforce the idea of her being a sage. In those days old people were thought to be wise; now they're disposable. I should know.
ReplyDeleteNo need to fear VP. All he can do is send one of his minions, smear your door-knob with nerve gas gel, and cause you to die in confusion and agony. Trump thinks he's a fine, strong, upstanding leader. Especially strong. Envies his six-pack.
But we must do more than vote. After all we did that in the warm reflected glow of the Obama presidency. Given the temper of the times we must do better. Or should I say worse?
Imagine you're back in Xth grade and you're doing Civics (of which I really have no idea; but it sounds plausible). Observe and transmit - something new about the enemy. DT when pronouncing the "oo" sound has what used to be called rosebud lips. And Rosebud was a scandalous, if enigmatic, allusion to another power-mad individual in Citizen Kane. There's something useful there, isn't there? Apply your imagination. Never disdain the comic touch, it can be deadly. Especially since being serious doesn't seem to work with DT.

DeleteAs I mentioned yesterday, I voted in the primary already. And don't worry -- I'll cast my Florida ballot in November too! I never pay attention to my blog stats. Maybe I should. Or maybe not.

ReplyDeleteI am actually quite proud of all the weird traffic to my blog, I wonder what they take away from it and whether in a distant bleak future I shall have to pay a price for moaning about chronic illness.
One never knows WHAT the bots are up to.
DeleteI had never really paid attention to the International Traffic or stats until you wrote this, interestingly yes, the 2nd largest 'visitor' is from Russia, how interesting given that my post topics generally are fluff! *LOL*
ReplyDeleteI never check the stats, but now I want to. Our primary was in June. Now we're in countdown mode to the midterms. I keep wondering what horrific thing the lunatic will do to try and influence things.
