2 years

Two years ago today I had surgery to repair my busted knee cap. Time really does fly. We celebrated by going on an 8 mile bike ride.

I would guess I'm about 96% back to normal. This is likely the best I can hope for, and I am NOT complaining.  I'll never run up and down stairs again, but would I want to?

I am still awed and humbled by the human body's desire to heal, as best as it can.  As best it can.

  4. It's been two years already. Wow.

It does take longer to heal though I've noticed as I get older. Glad you're able to bike again.

    1. As I get older I notice time goes by faster, too.

  5. Congrats on a pretty much complete Healing! The Body is indeed Miraculous in it's Desire to do what it Naturally is intended to do, we don't have to tell it to Heal, it wants us to Partner with it to do just that if it possibly can.

  7. Fancy bandaging and I say that with some feeling. The NHS in Britain is free (just imagine paying for the jaw thing) and thanks for that. However, thirty years ago the company I worked for provided free health insurance and I decided to have my leg veins done, since I'd have had to wait longer for such non-urgent surgery with the NHS Although the procedure was covered certain "extras" were not. Like bandages, f''rinstance. Needless to say these proved to be the most expensive bandages in the northern hemisphere. And not half as pretty as yours. Just a tiny reminder that health insurance is part of the profit-driven society.

  8. Good for you! I bet two years ago it would have been hard to imagine that bike ride.

  9. This certainly was a successful operation. I gave my bike away in GA a few months ago as I did not think I could ride it on the Nashville streets, but it would not have been a 8 mile ride anyway – good for you.
