I'm so tired

Yes, I am SO tired.  Tired of all the nonsense we are required to experience, read about, listen to, and live through these days.  Tired of people lacking compassion, most of all.  Today I despair.  This will pass, of course.  I'm not one to give up; however, today I am tired.  That's all I have to say.

  1. I hear you. It does build to a point where it is just too, too much and I'm sorry you're feeling that today. If I was there, I would bring you cake and a few laughs. Rest.

  2. I am learning that all emotions are here for a reason and that we are suppose to stay in the moment and feel them instead of fighting them. Way easier said than done when all of us want to be happy and healthy.

I hope you get good rest and feel much better tomorrow.

    1. Good advice. I really am trying to feel them. I think it is normal to get tired and need to rest. So I will. Tomorrow is a new day.

  3. Go take a nap. Then eat chocolate. That cures 99% of what ails me—at least temporarily. Many hugs from Chilly Hollow!

  4. There are days now when I think I get it. That all that which we are seeing and experiencing now as suddenly so harsh and shocking has been there all along, only we covered it up in a sense of feeling nice and comfortable and yes, superior while we were busy.
There has always been hate and greed and cruelty and racism, not just where you live, and the difference is that now for reasons we need to figure out, it has become bolder and crawled out of the dark corner where we thought it would stay. Like the ugly sediment of our social contract. The dregs.

The whole world has never been good and nice and democratic and decent and kind, only some of it.

(I just watched the documentary about Joan Didion on netflix, it helps.)

    1. I've been wanting to watch that documentary. Will look for it tomorrow morning. A good way to escape the dregs.

  5. This time of year the Veil is thin and the range of emotions can be particularly brutal and Mysterious. I absolutely Love this time of year, but I find I too fight some of the range of emotion that doesn't even make complete sense to me and seems to come from nowhere and everywhere all at once. Virtual hugs...

  6. This whole day I have been near tears. I am tired too. Just all of it. It’s too much.
    Let’s have a nap.

  8. I wish I had some thoughtful, uplifting words to share. These are such challenging times. Still, we have to find things that balance the madness. We go for walks, and we NEVER watch the news on tv. We read the news, and really it makes a difference. Take care and know that you are not alone in your despair.

  9. Every day brings more drumbeats and it is more than tiring. We need to concentrate on our own surroundings and our loved ones and drink more wine.

  10. You are in good company, Colette.

You reminded me of what Rosa Parks wrote:

"People always say that I didn't give up my seat because I was tired, but that isn't true. I was not tired physically, or no more tired than I usually was at the end of a working day. I was not old, although some people have an image of me as being old then. I was forty-two. No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in."

We all have to find time to get the rest we need, so we can do what we can when we can. Together we can. Not alone.

  11. I felt the same way, still do to some extent. A friend of mine suggested meditating which I'm trying. Another friend suggested tonglen meditation which I also tried and it surprised me how much it helped me feel better.

Sending warm thoughts and love your way.

  12. Perhaps, as Proust suggests, you need to see the world with new eyes.

There is so much goodness and kindness and compassion in this world. Unfortunately it does not make for media ratings or FaceBook fodder.

“Some people live in a bitter, angry, hate-filled world.
Some people living in a friendly, caring, love-filled world. Same world...” ― José N. Harris
