We've
been entertaining guests this past week, so I am kind of preoccupied with sun and fun. Let me
entertain you with some of the sights we have shown our visitors from the frozen northlands:
I had no idea I was going to catch this turtle at this happy moment. So cute. |
Taking it easy on Cocoa Beach |
N with a water pistol in the pool. Watch out. |
HUGE freakin' gator at Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive |
Elegant and fashionable Snowy Egret |
Heron |
Jumping the waves at Cocoa Beach |
It is hard to catch a turtle up close. They are easily spooked. The snowy egret is gorgeous. We have seen several cormorants this year which is unusual.
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of cormorants and anhingas down here.
DeleteHow wonderful, esp. the birds! And here we are battling April showers and getting soaked picking the first rhubarb.
ReplyDeleteCan't grow rhubard here. Darn!
DeleteAll wonderful. The turtle captures it all.
ReplyDeleteYes, I felt so special that I caught that happy moment in time.
DeleteSo entertaining. :-)
ReplyDeleteYay.
DeleteMight the gator be symbolic of the state that gave to the world hanging chads? Mind you, who am I to talk? Currently Britain's most prodigious export is political confusion. You expect us to make up our minds? That would assume we had a collective mind to start with.
ReplyDeleteI think the alligator would be an appropriate symbol of this primeval state. However, in 1982 they voted in the Florida Panther as the state animal. FL panthers are nearly extinct by the way. Alligators are everywhere.
DeleteBrexit makes me very sad.
DeleteLove the turtle and the gator! Turtles are so funny when they hold that pose. I guess it must feel good to get sun on their limbs and between their toes!
ReplyDeleteIt made me laugh. I can only imagine the joy it gives them.
DeleteLove that turtle photo! It still surprises me whenever you post a photo of an alligator. Wow! Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks.
DeleteIt is a feast for my eyes to see such beautiful and amazing critters!
ReplyDeleteWell THAT makes me happy!
DeleteSometimes I return to your posts again and again, experiencing them nonverbally until words come to me. Returning this time I suddenly wondered if turtles are related to alligators. Google provided me with this:

Initially, your turtle friend puts me in a delightful nonverbal state on every viewing! Then I can hear The Turtles song "Happy Together."

Oh, that's nice. Thank you. And love to discover the connection between turtles and alligators. Nice catch.
