St. Pete's municipal marina |
a boat motor |
heron |
just a sign |
antique gumball machines |
Guitar store |
I think these are slides for a guitar |
banjo |
Wish I had the nerve to go inside this bar alongside the road |
This bad boy jumped up on our table, stole Tom's crackers, and flew away |
What is that bird on the rail near the beginning?
ReplyDeleteI believe it is a heron with it's head tucked in.
DeleteYou have the nerve (to enter the shack pub), you probably lack the appropriate clothing and - possibly - the right language. Because I'm terribly old I'd call the clothing a "boiler suit"; a one-piece shirt/trousers with more pockets than you could shake a stick at. Bedaubed with many colours, some suggestively horrible and almost certainly infectious.
ReplyDeleteBut can you speak Russian? There are two characters in the sign that look like very feeble gallows; they are capitals of the fourth letter of the Russian alphabet. Their approximate English equivalent is the g in go. Should you overcome these two hurdles expect a warm welcome inside. Look how friendly Putin is to whatsisname, your president.
Dear God, the Russians are everywhere!!!
DeleteAnd now that we've used the word, my post hits from behind the Iron Curtain will increase dramatically. Ha.
DeleteLooks like a fun day there. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun day, but a quick trip. I'm no longer a comfortable traveler on busy highways.
DeleteAll those boats! Why not stop at the little roadside bar? Go in and order a soft drink if nothing else. Be brave.
ReplyDeleteWell, you have me thinking. It's kind of like a double dog dare to ask me to be brave. Ha!
DeleteWhat a wonderful trip to share. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome, Sabine.
DeleteCool stuff! Do you watch the show "American Pickers?" These things would be the things they buy. BTW, found your blog via Robin, and, like you, I'm just trying to figure this thing out. Again.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen that show, but will look for it. I'm happy to "meet" you! Welcome.
DeleteI love little trips like that.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen "The World's Fastest Indian?" True story about a New Zealander who takes his Indian motorcycle to set a speed record on the Salt Flats in Utah. With Anthony Hopkins. Really good movie.
