Beautiful, Colette. Our earth has so many different faces. Had I not visited my sister in Gulfport, Mississippi, and looked at your photos of Florida, I could not have imagined a place so unlike the coast of the Northwest Washington or any place I saw growing up in California which is so unlike Northwest Washington.
It is windy and rainy here today in contrast to these images with water so still that the sky is reflected!
Ha! In fact, there IS a rather large gator on the far bank of that body of water above and to the left in that second to the last photo. But it is so small and far away I don't think you can make it out. There weren't many out and about for some reason. We only saw about 5 on our bike ride that day.
Wonderful photos. I like the one of the bird on the fence post, calmly observing his/her surroundings. What type of bird is that? Not a kingfisher as I first thought.
Looks peaceful and quiet there!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a Happy New Year filled with peace, joy, and good health!
I love all the birds you see here in FL, but my favourite of these photos is the middle one - beautiful! Here's to a better year in 2021.
ReplyDeleteSo peaceful. All of the pictures give me a calm feeling.

What, no gators?! :)

DeleteThank you for sharing the beauty of your world with us. It's the best balance to these times. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year. It can only get better - somehow.

ReplyDeleteI would guess it is a Little Blue Heron, or possibly a Green Heron with the light making it look more blue than usual.
ReplyDeleteI've been awake quite a bit over the last 24 hours. I am inclined to end your headline with a semi-colon then add: "And starting 2021 with..."
ReplyDeleteThat would have been good.
