I know I should

I know I should write a post concerning my thoughts about yesterday's attempted coup/acts of sedition.  I want to, but I'm still a little shell shocked.  Let's see if I can spit something out.

  • It was obvious this nonsense was coming.
  • It isn't over.
  • It might get worse before it gets better.
  • A Democratic Republic is worth fighting for.

  1. I am still trying to process it all myself. The coming days will show us all what our country is and what we stand for.

  2. Thank you for that quote. We're in for a rough ride. We can do this.

  3. i agree this won't be the end of this guy and the trouble he causes. I fear far worse than yesterday. Pandemic, trump. Does it get any worse though really?

  4. Thank you for sharing your perspective and the quote. Time will tell how all of this will finally work out. Yesterday was so unbelievable in every way. I've got a post scheduled to go up Friday about it. It's just so hard to write anything at all.

  5. I posted this on another blog; I'll repeat it here:

Fortunately the Zuck has closed him from Facebook and Instagram and his Twitter account suspended past the innaguration. So, he's reduced to the phone and voicemail. This insurrection goes way deeper than the support of his party. There will be a lot of investigating to root QAnon and other conspiracy theory web promoters.

  6. Yes, like 9/11, we are looking to the skies to see what will fall on us next. As we saw, there are many bad actors out there and with or without Trump, they have more plans. The enemy is within.

  7. Biden/Harris are putting together a strong team that will take the steps needed to erase the haphazard, hateful work of the Trump administration. We must remain hopeful.

  8. Concise and certainly true! I think Trump's power has rapidly dwindled, even among his followers, who now see him as a weakling for capitulating. Hopefully these lunatics will fade back into the disorganized rabble they really are.

    1. That would be so great. I'd like to see them all slink back under the rocks they crawled out from under.

  9. Yes, it does leave one at a lack for Words... yet only the most blind or unaware couldn't see it coming.

  10. It certainly isn't over. The number of people who support Trump and his bizarre opinions is frightening. But democracy and common sense will win out in the end.

  11. I'm still reeling from it and I think it not only could get worse, it WILL get worse before it gets better. But I am holding onto hope for change.

  12. Even now, days (and another impeachment) later I am reluctant to give voice to that which is incomprehensible and indefensible.

We, as a people, have a long, long way to go.
