I need to get outside and start cleaning up the garden beds. That will make me happy for warmer weather.

Great pictures, lots of interesting wildlife you have there
ReplyDeleteThanks. It makes me wonder what Florida was like before it was invaded by transplants.
DeleteAlways love seeing your photos, especially the current one of your cat whom I'm quite fond of. Keep thinking of adopting a cat again but just lost my Medicaid benefits. Will have to see if I have enough money from my small Social Security check to be able to afford to have a cat.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, I can visit:

It's so much easier to sleep in cold weather. We had some unusually cold weather (-21 with wind chill!!!) here in the corner of Northwest Washington State but last night it warmed up enough that I was able to open my living room window and keep it open all night.
I'm sorry to hear about the Medicaid loss, what a world we live in.
DeleteFascinating pictures, as always.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joanne!
Deletelove the slippers and all the other pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm madly in love with my slippers.
DeleteHere in Illinois it has been rainy and foggy. We still have a bunch of snow to melt but we will get up to 40°F today so we are getting there! I like your photos, Colette.
ReplyDeleteHang in there!
DeleteAs lovely as it is to see your pix of turtles sunning themselves in January, I will enjoy my few more months of hurkle-durkle before having to start garden clean-up. (pulling my blankets back over my head : )
ReplyDeleteNow you are just making me jealous, ha!
DeleteYeah, that's pretty much a Florida winter, with all the fallen cypress needles. Love the croton leaves.
ReplyDeleteThe fallen cypress needles make for amazing color. As do the croton.
DeleteI wouldn't mind temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Right now the temperature here in Belfast is 9C. At least we don't have snow and ice which can be treacherous. And I love this time of the year when daylight is increasing and spring is on the way.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what bird makes that sort of nest?
An eagle. The nest is huge.
Deletehaha i love it how we experience temperture, also reading the Belfast comment, Temperature must not be a real thing for sure. Here I in the Yukon today, had lunch outside, in a sweater ( and snow pants) because it was a glorious plus 7 C ( 44 F)
ReplyDeleteIt's all a matter of what you get used to, isn't it? I spent many years living in New York State, where it gets pretty cold in the winter. But I can't imagine how cold your cold days are in the Yukon! It was 46 degrees this morning in the Orlando area which is unusual. I felt like it was too cold to go outside, ha!
Delete"...cleaning up the garden beds... will make me happy...." Verily, verily, saith the preacher, thou livest on a part of the Earth's surface quite different from that which accommodates me. Thou mayest even be a different species.
ReplyDeleteThose new slippers are very cute, and that oak looks impressive
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Hope you and yours are feeling better.
