flower painting June 2021 1

I seem to have fixed my computer issues. I don't know why they started, but luckily that's in the past. I don't have anything to say today, but I feel like I should post so you all don't think I've been hacked. Anyway, here's my most recent watercolor. I'm starting with the picture I used, and the rough drawing I did from it. Then, finally, a painting. I'm happy with it. I feel like I'm learning and progressing a bit. That's a good feeling.

No need to comment. It's just nice to have some people I can show these to!

  1. That is amazing! All my life I have been jealous of people who can sing, people who can dance, and now, people who can do art.

  2. I like all the shades of pink and coral. They are my favorite color combo I think. Great work!

  10. That's Beautiful! Watercolors I found to be so hard to work with, the Grandchild is now doing them in her High School Art Class and thinks the same... I think it's a Talent you either have or you don't... you definitely have it!

  11. The drawing is admirable but take no notice of this; drawings aren't my thing, other than a yearning (unsupported by any form of willpower) to do them well.

But I am shocked, overwhelmed, bouleversé, depressed, driven to weeping by the sentence "I don't have anything to say today." I could point out that you actually said that, and that was a start. But I cannot let you off that lightly.

Is it in fact true? Are the images that run continously through your head from waking to sleeping happening or not? I'll answer for you, yes they are. True they are mainly images (moving images in most cases) but they come with a scattering of words often disconnected. Stand still, close your eyes, and let them run; chances are a couple of words will connect themselves. Let's say two such words are "peascod" and "pusillanimity". Hey, they both start with p and ain't that a coincidence? Possibly, but coincidences aren't very interesting even though most people think they are. And there's a subject straight-away: the misguidedness of crowds.

Yeah, you could do 500 words on that.

But no. Look closer. Chances are you know "pusillanimity", you were after all educated beyond your 16th birthday. But "peascod" is another kettle of fish. Something tells you it might be slightly dirty. Why?

I won't go on. When I do you don't respond to my longer comments and I may already have passed the limit. And there's a subject for me.

  12. Wow! I've replied in my new post. Of course I did not know the word pusillanimity, but was happy to learn it. I hate thinking of myself as pusillanimous. Timidity is a scourge. In my family, it is a sin. Thanks for the pep talk. Yeah, I do tend not to respond to your long comments, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy them. I'm just usually exhausted by all the close reading.

    1. If you get exhausted after reading 'em, just imagine my state after writing 'em.
