Too far?

Oh gee.  Sometimes I go too far.  I have referred to myself as a puppy type of person before: jumping, biting, yapping, and playing.  Or maybe a kitten going on a rip (a cat zoomie).  Watch out for flying claws.  But I'm filled with love and concern for so many people. Probably too much.  I wear myself out with love.  When I crash I'm filled with anxiety. I need to take a nap.  I need more toys.

  1. If that's the way you move through life, that's the way you do it. At least you have figured it out. Be the kitten you always wanted to be, or the puppy or the cat or the woman.

    1. I would prefer being a cat to being a dog. Not sure why.

  2. Perhaps you need to turn some of your love onto yourself. Make a pampering day. A leisurely breakfast followed by any outdoor activity you enjoy. A light lunch. Maybe a warm soak in the tub while reading a good book. After you could turn on soothing music and take a restful nap. Upon awakening dress in comfortable but good-looking clothes. Have a decadent meal that you don't cook. Watch a movie you really love or indulge in some other activity you find fun. When you wake up the following morning you will feel refreshed and ready to dish out more of the love you have to give.

  4. I liked reading Emma's comment/advice. Something we all should read and consider doing.

  5. The answer to your problem is in one of your 'favorite posts'!
Out of my mindfulness. but you need to substitute a less hackneyed word for that over- and incorrectly used one. Good luck. Yoga does it for me. Or even just closing my eyes and breathing deeply for a few minutes.

    1. I'm sure you are right; however, I have trouble trying to clear my mind. Sounds like a lame excuse? It is. Practice would make perfect. I tentatively promise to try it this afternoon for a few minutes.

  6. I've never been the romping puppy type. I'm more the quiet watchful type, with very occasional romping if I'm really excited by something. But we need both types for a properly-balanced world.

  7. You say it like it's a bad thing! Take a nap! Buy more toys!

Actually, I like Emma's response too -- a little pampering and relaxation is always called for.

  8. Interesting characterizations. I think a nap is a grand idea. :-)

  9. You can never have too much Love... and being concerned for people is not a bad thing. Caring a lot can be weighty tho', so some self-care would be a good thing I think.
